Kerala Police charges Christian man with 153 A for allegedly ‘disrespecting’ cow; Action on bjp worker’s complaint

Kerala police has charged a Christian man with 153 A based on a complaint filed by a local BJP worker alleging that he had spoken about cows with discourtesy.  The case has been registered by Vellarikkund police in Kasargod district. Sajan Joseph, native of Vellarikkundu is charged with 153 A on the complaint filed Chandran, native of Vellarikkund, Kasargod .

As per local reports, the incident happened during a conversation both were having at a tea shop. Cow became a topic of conversation and Sajan asked Chandran “if you respect cow this much why you drink it’s milk?”.Chandran alleges that this is a derogatory remark on holy cow and Sajan attempts to create communal tension. Chandran also alleges that Sajan went on speaking against Hindus and Hindu gods. We are yet to receive a response from Sajan.

Initially Chandran filed a complaint to Kanjangad DYSP. DYSP instructed Vellarikkundu police station to take over the case. Currently Vellarikkundu CI is enquiring the case.
