Two Jaesh militants killed in a nocturnal gunfight, a girl shot by unidentified gunmen in South Kashmir

Two suspected militants were killed by security forces in a nocturnal gunfight in Drabgama Village of Pulwama district, 30 kilometers south of Srinagar. This morning, some children, playing with a mysterious object at the encounter site, were injured after it exploded in the hand of one the child.
Following information about the presence of militants cordoned off Baba Mohalla of Drabgam village last evening. As the searches intensified, the forces installed lights to prevent militants from escaping in the darkness.
As the forces zeroed in on the suspected spot, the militants opened fire on them triggering off a gunfight. The gunfight ended with the killing of two local militants who belonged to the Jaesh Mohammad Outfit.
The killed militants were later identified as Shahid Baba, a resident of Drabgam Pulwama and Anayat Ullaha, a resident of Arihal village of Pulwama district.
When the gunfight was going on, a 10-second video of a girl being shot by unidentified gunmen was doing rounds on social media. Today morning, a bullet-ridden body of the girl was recovered by police from Cherbagh area of Draggad.
On the incident, police said the group of suspected militants abducted the girl namely Ishrat Muneer Bhat of Dangerpora Pulwama and was later shot dead from point-blank range at Cherbagh area of Draggad in Shopian.
The girl is said to be the maternal cousin of a top militant commander, Zeenat-ul-Islam, who was killed along with his associate in an encounter on January 13.
